The Party Wall Act (Party Wall Law or Party Wall Legislation) and the situations that it applies to are vast. We have many Party Wall Case Studies that we've successfully advised on for our clients. Here are a number of examples where we were appointed to undertake work as party wall surveyors by our clients .

Eastgate Square, Chichester.

One of our party wall surveyors was appointed by Seaward Properties Limited to act as Building Owner's Surveyor for their large redevelopment of Eastgate Square in Chichester. The adjoining properties included the city wall which is a listed monument and, as such, she has worked closely with the District Council's surveyor and English Heritage to ensure that careful demolition of the adjoining structure was undertaken. Furthermore she was involved in the complex design features and subsequent method statements for all elements of the works, including the scaffolding for the demolition and rebuild, particularly to the neighbouring flats and public house where the development so as to ensure that the neighbouring structures were safeguarded during demolition and throughout the works.

Hampton Court Road, Hampton Court.

One of our party wall surveyors was appointed by MAA Architects on behalf of the building owner to act as Building Owner's Surveyor for their project on Hampton Court Road. The property is in a prime location and the build is subject to various constraints. The party walls between the neighbouring properties were staggered and owning to the additional story of the proposed structure it was important to ensure, through the Awards, that the shared and neighbouring footing were safeguarded. In addition to this it was necessary to agree specific rainwater systems to ensure that the neighbours existing systems were not overloaded.

8 Station Parade, Balham.

One of our party wall surveyors was appointed to act as Adjoining Owner's Surveyor for the EEIBA for a proposed extension to the neighbouring property. It was important to ensure that a full Schedule of Condition was undertaken so as to safeguard the interests of both parties. It was also confirmed within the Award that the Adjoining Owner could take benefit of the new extenuation, built to the line of junction, by means of ensure, subject to Section 11 of the Act.

Gowers Yard, Eton.

One of our party wall surveyors was appointed to act as Building Owner's Surveyor for Bewley Homes development known as Gowers Yard. The Site adjoins property belonging to Eton College. The site was successfully completed and signed off early in 2009.
